Arlington Alfresco is officially underway! Have you made your way downtown to dine outdoors? The intersection of Campbell Street and Vail Avenue is now humming with a social-distance-conscious crowd who can dine at the several Arlington Heights restaurants that offer table service on patios and screened-in porches. Families are gathering with kids and dogs in tow around the fountain and on the lawn at Harmony Park, while others are queuing up in line to put their names on wait lists for restaurants that offer patio service. For many who visit, the longer than usual wait times are well worth it to enjoy a semblance of normalcy, while also supporting local businesses.
Village officials recommend making reservations with the individual eateries before arriving. For those who want to support downtown restaurants but still aren't comfortable with dining out yet, designated areas at the entrances of the outdoor dining zone will be used for curbside pickup. Arlington Alfresco's dining areas will be open daily until 11 p.m. The village-led downtown outdoor dining program is set to run through Labor Day weekend.
Don't forget to show your love for establishments that aren't apart of the Arlington Alfresco, like Tuscan Market and Wine Shop, 141 W Wing St, which now has two outdoor patio tables to serve customers along with their curbside and carry out service. Tuscan Market plans to serve even more customers in phase four of Illinois reopening. The earliest any region can advance to Phase 4 is Friday, June 26.
