A holiday-themed pop-up bar, The "Sippin’ Santa," is coming to Cortland's Garage in Arlington Heights this week! The concept debuted in New York City at The Boilermaker and has spread across the US to 29 other bars. Cortland's will be transformed into a Tiki hut-inspired winter wonderland with the help of Tiki expert Jeff "Beachbum" Berry of New Orleans!
The space will be dripping in old school decorations, cotton candy snow, colorful fairy lights and a soundtrack of holiday music. Don't miss irresistibly themed cocktails like the signature "Sippin Santa", a mix of aged Demerara rum, amaro, gingerbread mix, and lemon and orange juice; or the "Kris Kringle Colada", the "Christmas Eve Destruction". Coming in a group? Try "Jingle Bowl"- a shareable rum punch perfect for 2 to 4, consisting of Jamaican and Demerara rums, apple brandy, amaro, lemon, orange and pineapple juices, maple and cinnamon syrups and Angostura bitters!
The "Sippin Santa" event will run from Monday, November 25th through Tuesday, December 31st. On Monday, December 2nd, join others at the pop-up for a Christmas sweater party! Wear your best "ugly" holiday sweater and pick up a special souvenir holiday-themed mug along the way. 10 percent of all sales will go towards fighting food insecurity this season through Action Against Hunger.
