Our charity initiative GetBurbed Bites benefiting local residents in need was a success! The community came out in droves to support both the restaurants and the cause. Originally planning to match contributions from each restaurant, we decided to increase our portion to round up to $2,000.
Arlington Cares President Ron Crawford, Vice President Bridget Schank and Director of Emergency Assistance Fund Nicole Espinoza, as well as the restaurant owners, gathered Friday, Oct. 2, for the formal celebration and charity check handover.
Participating GetBurbed Bites restaurants included Berry-Yo, Tuscan Market & Wine Shop, Scratchboard Kitchen, Coco & Blu Cafe, Beer on the Wall, and Sweet T's Bakery.
Featured food items consisted of a signature sundae from Berry-Yo, flatbread pizza from Tuscan Market, s'more doughnut from Scratchboard Kitchen, breakfast sandwich from Coco & Blu Cafe, craft beer four-pack from Beer on the Wall and cupcakes from Sweet T's.
We created this event to bring more people into local restaurants and, at the same time, raise awareness and funds for Arlington Cares.
Arlington Heights means so much to us. We want the restaurants to thrive and we want our neighbors to thrive. We started GetBurbed Bites to benefit both.
